Ames School Talent Show 2017

Details
· Register online at www.amestalentshow.com. Registration and permission slips due by Friday, April 21st. No late entries will be allowed.
· Students choose from the following options: Performer (all ages), Announcer (3rd/4th/5th), Stage Crew (5th only)
· Students cannot do more than 1 act. (This does NOT include a Teacher Organized Act).
· Students who register online and turn in the permission slip will audition. Auditions will be held on April 24th & April 25th in the Ames gym during the lunch period.
· Dance routines, gymnastic routines, skits, instrumental acts, comedy routines, poetry readings, karate routines (without weapons), singing, magic acts are all examples of acceptable performances. Lip-synching is not permitted. If you have questions about the appropriateness of an act, please contact Tia Sherman.
· Acts will be limited to 1 minute and 30 seconds.
· If music is required for an act, it will need to be edited to 1 minute and 30 seconds. All music is due on the day of the audition.
· When auditioning, acts should be well prepared. Acts may not be changed at dress rehearsal and/or the night of the performance. The auditioned act is the act that is performed in the talent show.
· When auditioning, students will need to describe their costume. All costumes should be appropriate for school. Costumes need not be worn to audition.
· When auditioning, students will need to describe any equipment and/or props needed for their act.

Important Dates
Friday, April 21st – Online registration and permission slips due
Monday, April 24th – Talent Show Auditions- Ames gym during lunch K-3rd
Tuesday, April 25th – Talent Show Auditions- Ames gym during lunch 4th – 5th
Tuesday, May 16th – Dress Rehearsal- Ames gym 3:30-6:30
Friday, May 19th – Afternoon Show- 1:55-2:55pm/Evening Show- 6:30- 8:00pm (arrive at 6pm)

Parent Volunteers– Parent help is needed in order to run the show. Help is needed with auditions, dress rehearsals, performance day/night and creating the program. Please contact Tia Sherman if you are interested in helping out.
