- Making Foam Slime (students will take this home and they will create this) learning about polymerization and chemical reactions
- Weather unit experimenting with Dry Ice to make clouds and Making Forever Snow, and tornado tubes and pressure experiments (will take forever snow home)
- Edison’s workshop- working with static and current electricity generating a static lightning bulb using our Van de Graff.
The Science Fair is this Thursday!!!!
Here is a timeline for the event for science fair participants:
4pm Children arrive and set up presentations (all children should bring a water bottle too!)
4:30pm Judging begins and all parents need to exit the gym
4:30-6pm Children will take turns giving their presentations and eating pizza
6-6:30pm Ribbons are distributed
6:30pm-8:00pm Hands on science for the whole family begins!!!!
Please note: The Science Fair is open to All our Ames Families. Science workshops by High Tech High Touch are from 6:30-8:00pm and will include:
Finally, if you are available to help with the science fair, please let Elizabeth know! We need one parent to volunteer to supervise the food from 4:30 to 6pm, and 2 parents to help direct children to their space for their presentations from 4-4:45pm.
