Welcome Ames Families to the 2018-19 school year!
If this is your first year at Ames Elementary School, we would like to welcome you to our school and community. If you are a returning family, we know that you are excited to begin another year at Ames. As a local PTA unit, we are dedicated to our children’s educational success, health and well-being through strong family, school and community engagement. We are looking forward to continue the working partnership we have with our amazing teachers and staff, the District 96 Board of Education, and our administration. Our ultimate goal is to assist in providing an excellent learning experience for our children. We hope you value this commitment too and will make it a priority to become a member of our Ames PTA.
Throughout the school year, Ames PTA hosts many free family-focused events at the school. We hope you are able to attend these events and even lend a helping hand if needed. Some events include:
- Family Movie Nights
- Family Heritage Night
- Annual Family Dance
Ames PTA also sponsors programs meant to enrich the learning experiences for our children. We are pleased to host these (and many more) programs:
- Artist in Residence
- Science Fair
- School assemblies
- Grade level Field trips
- End-of-year talent show
- Pizza with the Principal
In order to offer these wonderful programs, Ames PTA offers various fundraisers throughout the school year, including:
- Scholastic Book Fair
- Charleston Gift Wrap
- Restaurant Nights
- Box Tops for Education
- Spirit Wear
- Parents Night Out – Flying High
We need parent volunteers like you to make our PTA work! We encourage you to join today. We can use all types of help and can fit in all schedule types. Check us out online or in person:
- Visit amespta.org and sign up for Feedblitz to receive important information or like our Facebook page at Ames School PTA
- Attend the monthly PTA meetings – Come and meet other Ames families, get to know our teachers and staff, and learn more about upcoming events and ways you can help our students. Our next PTA meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 11 at 6:30 PM in the Ames art room. Family movie night will run during our meeting.
