Here’s some news from Student Council:

For the past number of years, students at Ames School have supported our school as Student Council members. We are lucky enough this year to have 20 enthusiastic, dedicated students in grades 2-5 representing our school. They have participated in several fundraising activities, including selling Christmas bracelets to raise money for the Toys for Tots foundation. In addition, Student Council members work daily at our school store, where we sell items ranging from pencils to erasers to notebooks. The Student Council members are also responsible for collecting classroom recycling bins and dispensing them weekly.

This spring, we will be heading to the Loyola University Ronald McDonald house for Earth Week to help plant flowers. We’re also looking forward to selling ice cream after school and Spirit Week in May. Stay tuned for more information!
