Art Guide Volunteers Needed

Posted Oct 28, 2010 | Category: Reminders, School Activity, Volunteers

ART GUIDE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

The goal of the Art Guide Program at Ames School is to nurture our students’ creativity and appreciation for the arts by having volunteers present artists and their art and to reinforce key ideas through hands-on activities.

Each grade has four artists that are to be presented each school year.

Should you have an interest in volunteering for this program, further information will be forwarded to you to assist you with preparing for your presentation.

This is a unique way to be involved in the classroom and one the children enjoy and appreciate.

For those interested in volunteering as an Art Guide for the 2010-2011 school year, please contact Lisa Muldowney at 708-447-3264 or by e-mail LFM384@yahoo.com

Thank you.

Posted Oct 24, 2010 | Category: Community, Reminders
Dear Ames families,
The PTA is looking for volunteers to help with refreshments for the Jeanie Kustok Memorial Dedication this Thursday, October 28.  As you likely already know, there will be a Memorial Dedication for Mrs. Jeanie Kustok on the front lawn of Central School this Thursday from 4 – 5 p.m.  A reception will follow in the Central School gym.  In support of the staff and students at both Central and Hollywood schools where Mrs. Kustok taught, Ames will be joining other District 96 schools in providing refreshments for the reception.
Ames will be providing fruit, water and plates.  I am looking for 3 volunteers to bring one gallon of water each and 3 volunteers to bring fruit.  I will collect and bring our contribution to Central on Thursday morning.  Please contact me at tlhennelly@sbcglobal.net if you are able to help out with refreshments.
Thank You!

The highlight of the program is the introduction of family members and friends who are veterans.  If you know a veteran or anyone who has served in the Armed Forces, please invite them to attend.  Students will introduce their guest(s).  If time alows, we encourage the veterans to give a sentence or two about where they served.

Students are also encouraged ot wear red, white, and/or blue clothing.  We hope you can join us in our celebration of patriotism.

Sincerely,

Principal Lieggi & Mrs Lauritsen,  Music Teacher
