Calendars were distributed at school today.  If you have more than one child at Ames, the calendar will be coming home with the oldest.
   If you do not receive your calendar today or tomorrow, please verify that you sent in the PTA membership/directory/volunteer forms.  The forms were sent home at the end of the school year in a large, white envelope or they are available on the Ames PTA website under “Forms” (www.amespta.org/forms). 
   Directories will be distributed to PTA members in a few weeks.  Please make sure you fill out the directory form and return it to the school office ASAP.

Looking for Moms and Dads interested in coaching an Ames Basketball Team (or two).

District 96 school parent, Mel Tracy, started a basketball program at Hollywood School to teach boys and girls the basics of basketball.  Hollywood players are looking for other schools to play for fun and exercise.

The best case scenario would be to have an all boys team and an all girls team in grades 4th and 5th.

In order to pursue this idea, Mel needs other interested parents to contact him.
